Privacy
Short version: this site does not use advertising trackers, does not sell data, and does not require an account. I keep a small amount of visit information so I can see what people actually open.
What this site records. On each page load, the site sends a
same-origin beacon to my own server (/stats/hit.php). That hit
stores: the page path, the HTTP referrer if the browser sent one, a UTC
timestamp, and a daily visitor id. The visitor id is a one-way hash of
IP address + user agent + date + a private salt. Raw IP addresses are not
written into those stats files. Obvious bots are skipped.
Those hits live on the hosting account and feed a private email digest I get with rough view counts, approximate unique visitors, and top pages. That digest is for me only. It is not shared, sold, or used for ads.
What stays only on your device. If you use the light/dark
theme button, the choice is saved in your browser as
localStorage key k9-theme. That never leaves your
browser for tracking. This site does not set tracking cookies.
What I do not collect with this site. No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no ad networks, no fingerprinting SDKs, and no account login. I do not ask for your name, email, or payment details just to browse.
When you contact me or leave the site. If you email owner@k9dtv.com, I keep whatever you send so I can reply. If you donate via PayPal, or open GitHub / other outbound links, those services use their own privacy policies. My hosting provider (Hostinger) may also keep normal web-server or CDN logs as part of running the site - that is outside the little stats system above.
Questions. Email owner@k9dtv.com if you want something clarified. This note describes what k9dtv.com does today; if that changes in a meaningful way, I will update this page.
